The COZY is a custom, plans built aircraft design
 by Nat Puffer of Mesa, Az. It is a side  by side
 pilot/passenger configuration derived  from the
 tandem (front/back) seating arrangement in the
 Long-Eze designed by Burt Rutan.

 Rutan  is a renowned aircraft designer famous
 for developing, among many other designs,
 the Beech Starship  and the non-stop,
 round the world unrefueled record holder
 the Voyager.

The COZY is not a kit plane. While there are some 
prefabricated parts available, it is primarily fabricated
 by hand using builder made jigs. It is built from plastic
 foam cores which are cut to the proper shape. The 
cores are sandwiched  between skins made of
fiberglass cloth wetted with epoxy resin. The skins
are applied directly over the cores using a wet layup
which cures at room temperature. Total fabrication time
 is between  1500 and 4000 hours depending on the
experience of the builder and the complexity of  the 
systems installed.

N342RM is equipped with a Lycoming air cooled 
150 HP aircraft engine. It is fully equipped for day 
or night VFR flight. Equipment includes a compass, 
altimeter, rate of climb indicator, airspeed indicator, 
artificial horizon, directional gyro, outside  air temp,
 turn and bank, engine oil pressure and temperature, 
fuel pressure, alternator voltage and current, 
exhaust gas temperature, and cylinder head 
temperature. It has a roll axis autopilot, 
a 760  channel communications transceiver, 
a handheld GPS receiver,  a transponder with altitude
encoding and an emergency locator transmitter. 
For night flight it has a landing light, instrument lighting,
position lights and wingtip strobe lights.
